A little context

What does Govinda's mean?

Govinda is one of the names associated with Krishna. At Govinda’s, the name reflects a simple way of living — sharing nourishing food, caring for one another and creating space for people to connect.

You don’t need to know anything about the tradition to feel welcome here. Come for a meal, stay for the community and discover something deeper at your own pace.

A living tradition

Hare Krishna and ISKCON.

Govinda’s is part of the Hare Krishna tradition, formally known as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, or ISKCON. The tradition centres on devotion, mantra meditation, vegetarian food, spiritual learning and service. At Govinda’s, these ideas are expressed through a welcoming meal, community gatherings and Thursday Night Kirtan. You do not need to be familiar with the tradition to visit. Everyone is welcome to learn, ask questions or simply share a meal.
